Meet Michael

Originally from Massachusetts, Michael began work at The Feldman Group in 2011, developing an all-around understanding of the survey research process. He began as a Research Assistant, but quickly rose to become an Analyst. He advised candidates at both the state and federal levels, including Governor Peter Shumlin's re-election campaign, Representative Jim Himes' campaign (CT-04), and the New Hampshire Freedom Fund, the Democratic Governors' Association independent expenditure campaign supporting Maggie Hassan. In addition, he advised Obama's Ohio re-election campaign, working on nightly rolling tracking surveys throughout the fall.

In 2013, Michael moved to Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research's Analytics Department. As a Senior Associate, he was at the nexus of survey research and data analytics, monitoring trends in the American electorate and developing campaign reporting tools and visualizations. He provided strategic guidance to labor unions and environmental advocacy groups, and conducted research for the AFL-CIO, the Partnership Project, and SEIU's 2016 independent expenditure campaign. Michael managed a team of 5-6 staff members and one of the largest databases in the progressive community outside of voter files.

In 2018, Michael participated in an immersive Data Science program at General Assembly's Washington, DC campus to develop a broader set of analytic tools. While there, he built a portfolio of data science projects, like building a recipe recommendation engine to help reduce individual-level food waste, that he writes about extensively here.
